TPoX models an online brokerage scenario. Each customer has one or multiple accounts. Each account has one or multiple holdings. A holding (aka position) is a certain number of shares of a security. A security can be a stock, a bond or a mutual fund. Customers place orders to buy or sell securities for their account(s).

These logical entities are represented by three XML Schemas. One for securities, one for orders, and one for customers with their account and holding information. This results in three document collections. The order documents are compliant with FIXML (Financial Information eXchange Markup Language), an industry standard for financial messages. TPoX uses FIXML schema Version 4.4 20040109, Revision 1 dated 2006-10-06.

For further details and scale factors, please see the TPoX Benchmark Specification.
